The capacitive water sensor is based on the principle of capacitance induction, which uses the change of measuring capacitance to determine the change of liquid level. When the height of the liquid is different, the capacitance of the measuring electrode will change, and the change of the liquid level height is converted into a standard current signal output.
The controller can control the level change of the water level transducer based on the collected signal. For example, water should be added to the pump when there is no water to drive. When a high level of water is reached, it should stop filling water to the pump.
The capacitive water level transducer is mainly installed on the outer wall of the container for detection, and is a contactless water level sensor. If the sensor contacts with liquid, undesirable results will occur.
The capacitive sensor has the advantage of a wide detection range and can be used to detect corrosive, edible and other liquids. It will not contact with liquids, and it will not chemically react with liquids. Therefore, it can also be used to detect special liquids such as medical-biological reagents, which are safer and more hygienic.
The capacitive water level sensor can also be used in household appliances, humidifiers, aromatherapy machines, water dispensers, medical equipment, etc.
High-temperature liquids such as the liquid in the hot water tank or a water heater can not be detected by the capacitive water sensor. The high temperature will cause the sensor to lose efficacy. The capacitive sensor must be used in an environment with a temperature below 40°.
Liquids in metal containers also cannot be detected. The capacitive sensor can only be installed on non-metallic containers, and it cannot detect liquids with low conductivity, such as gasoline and diesel oil.
