Basic requirements
When the transducer emits pulsed ultrasound, it has a certain opening angle. From the lower edge of the transducer to the surface of the measured medium, the area radiated by the emitted ultrasonic beam should have as many obstacles as possible, so the installation in the tank should be avoided as much as possible during installation, such as: human ladder, limit position Switches, heating equipment, brackets, etc. If there is interference from obstacles, "false echo storage" is required during installation.
Also note that the ultrasonic beam must not intersect the feed stream. When installing the instrument, also pay attention to: the highest material level must not enter the measurement blind area; the instrument must maintain a certain distance from the tank wall; the installation of the instrument should make the emission direction of the transducer perpendicular to the liquid surface as much as possible. Instruments installed in explosion-proof areas must comply with the national installation regulations for explosion-proof areas.
The intrinsically safe housing uses an aluminum housing. Intrinsically safe instruments can be installed in places where explosion-proof requirements are required, and the instruments must be grounded.
When installing the ultrasonic liquid sensor, pay attention to the distance between the instrument and the container wall at least 200mm.
For a conical container and a flat tank top, the best installation position of the instrument is the center of the top of the container, which can ensure that the bottom of the container is measured.
When there is stirring in the tank, install the meter as far away from the stirrer as possible. After installation, "false echo storage" should be performed in the stirring state to eliminate the effect of false echoes generated by the stirring blade. If foam is generated due to agitation or waves are turned up, the waveguide installation method should be used. The foam will form foam on the surface of some liquid media due to feeding, stirring or other processes in the container, attenuating the transmitted signal. If foam causes measurement errors, the sensor should be installed in the waveguide or a radar level gauge should be used.
